Aug 19 – Ottawa

Because we parked near the Rideau Centre, the first major attractions we saw were… The War Memorial and the tomb of the unknown soldier. Chris, Karen, and Emma joined us from Kingston, just a short drive down the road. One of our goals was to see… Parliament! Open to visitors all summer. (When I was [...]

Aug 16 – Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec City)

The lower gate entrance we used to go inside: A caleche ride is a great way to see (and photograph) the city. The provincial legislature buildings. The old city streets are very narrow. But interesting! The architecture is great to see. Here is the Notre Dame Basilica. This tree is over 150 years old. As [...]

Aug 14 – St Anne de Beaupre Basilica

The building is massive. It can easily be seen from the nearby highway (and maybe the space station…) Approaching the front… The main entrance. Our first day began with an unexpected visitor into the screen room of the trailer… After Grampy managed to safely convince [...]

More basement renovations done!

Here are the walls, all covered with sheetrock. The sheetrock pile has been reduced quite substantially! Here is the pocket glass door Nadine wanted for the laundry room. We only need to add some sheetrock to make the innards disappear!

"Frank the Sissy"

After some hand-wrangling, Nadine finally decided on this statue of this fellow, whom I have nicknamed “Frank the Sissy” (I think he is better known to the Catholic community as St. Francis of Assisi…). After strugging to carry him from the shop to the van, we managed to find a spot for him in the [...]
